Developmental Editing
Overview
Developmental editing (also called structural editing) is a big-picture look at the structure and content of your story. This service examines character arcs, theme, genre expectations, pacing, scene structure, and more — zooming out to the highest level as well as in to each scene to ensure that all aspects of the story are working in harmony to immerse the reader and create emotional impact.
Deliverables
- An editorial letter (25 - 80 pages) that serves as your guide to revision. It highlights your story’s strengths and discusses areas to consider for revisions, along with specific, actionable suggestions.
- Comments in the manuscript, which helps you apply the topics from the editorial letter on a line-by-line level.
- A book map: a chapter-by-chapter spreadsheet that highlights your character arcs and subplots to aid you in your revisions.
- A post-edit conversation (free if scheduled within two weeks of returned edit) to discuss the revisions and your story’s next steps.
Timeline
This edit typically takes 4 - 8 weeks.

Line Editing
Overview
A line edit is a detailed revision of voice. This service entails revisions to syntax, sentence structure, spacing, and more to enhance your unique authorial voice and help readers be immersed in the story.
Deliverables
- An editorial letter (5 - 15 pages) discussing common line-level issues for your reference during the edit.
- In-text track changes and comments
- A second pass after you’ve addressed outstanding queries
- An optional 30-minute post-edit conversation (free if scheduled within 2 weeks of receiving final edit)
Timeline
Generally completed within 4 to 6 weeks.

Overview
This service is designed to support you as you undertake revisions following receiving an editing service from me. This service is highly tailored to your needs and goals; it can include guidance on navigating the revision, exercises to practice craft topics, accountability, and feedback on up to XX pages per month.

Book Coaching
Overview
Book coaching provides guidance and support for authors in the story development and drafting stages of a writing project. Writing can be a challenging process, and you don’t need to do it alone. Book coaching addresses your needs at any point from project ideation to a finished draft, whether that’s mindset support, building a sustainable writing habit, learning a proven story development process, implementing craft knowledge with your story project, or getting accountability to keep making progress and move reach your writing goals.
Timeline
I offer a 3-month book coaching package that can then be renewed on a monthly basis.
